When a Boy Scout troop recycles more than 10,000 pounds of electronic waste at an average monthly Electronicfest there’s bound to be a slew of computer recycling questions. Troop 446 committee chairman, Keith Woods, usually fields the questions since his cell phone number is on the troop website, and social sites. “You don’t have to tell me when the swap meet’s happening, because I start getting 5 to 6 calls a day a week out,” said Keith Woods. “The biggest question is “do you have a pick-up service?’ which is ‘no’ unless we are considering a large donation of 10 computers of more. Following that, people want to confirm our dates, the location, or what we accept for recycling.”
That’s why Keith enlisted his oldest son Eagle Scout Kent Woods who answers questions in a short video published by Keith Woods’ business, KB Woods Public Relations. It was posted on January 13th, 2011 on the KB Woods Public Relations YouTube channel, and on the Electronicfest’s Facebook fanpage, with messages on Twitter.
