Computer Recycling Scottsdale – Your Donations Help Boy Scouts

For computer recycling Scottsdale residents have many options. The Boy Scouts of Troop 446 offer what we think is the best option for computer and electronics recycling in the region.

Your donation, dropped of at our monthly recycling event and shoppers swap meet, may be tax deductible. The money we raiser from the event, and donations of computers and other electronics helps boy scouts earn their way to boy scout camps, outings, and support community works. In fact, our boy scout run event helps young men from the ages of 12 to 18 learn how to be full functioning adults.

So when making a choice of where to drop off your used electronics please chose Boy Scouts.

Next Computer Swap Meet and Recycling Event in Scottsdale Jan 16 2011

Computer and electronics shopping has never been better, or more exciting than at the computer swap meet and recycling event the boy scouts have planned for this Sunday, January 16th, 2011 at the Scottsdale Pavilions Shopping Center.

Start time is 5:30am (that’s when most of the vendors are set up), with electronics recycling dropoff station (look for the large Westech truck) ready to accept donations by 6am. Advice for first time shoppers…the best deals on new and used computers, flat screens, and lap tops happen in the wee hours of the morning in the dark. Shopping hours hit the peak at 7:30am and run hard until our first live computer auction at 9am.

Computer Recycling Questions Answered for Arizonans

When a Boy Scout troop recycles more than 10,000 pounds of electronic waste at an average monthly Electronicfest there’s bound to be a slew of computer recycling questions. Troop 446 committee chairman, Keith Woods, usually fields the questions since his cell phone number is on the troop website, and social sites. “You don’t have to tell me when the swap meet’s happening, because I start getting 5 to 6 calls a day a week out,” said Keith Woods. “The biggest question is “do you have a pick-up service?’ which is ‘no’ unless we are considering a large donation of 10 computers of more. Following that, people want to confirm our dates, the location, or what we accept for recycling.”
That’s why Keith enlisted his oldest son Eagle Scout Kent Woods who answers questions in a short video published by Keith Woods’ business, KB Woods Public Relations. It was posted on January 13th, 2011 on the KB Woods Public Relations YouTube channel, and on the Electronicfest’s Facebook fanpage, with messages on Twitter.
